hey! I'm interested! wednesdays are good!

OK, we now have two Photography proposals and one "travel photography" proposal. We should seriously think about combining efforts!

ok well it's wednesday tomorrow, any chance to meet up already with the 3 of us who are interested?
I have very much the same interests as Nomi - to have a peer group to crit and discuss each other's work.

Someone should propose a schedule of meetings here - however many times you would like to meet, dates, and times -- and someone should also say "I can teach this!" (even if it's just to be a facilitator, not a 'teacher').

I will then schedule it through the Public School site and I can also offer Ptarmigan as a meeting space if the times don't conflict with anything else we have on.

Hi again, i thought i already ticked the 'can teach this' box.. anyhow I can teach and participate as others who are artists and using photography as their medium..
Myself I work as a commercial photographer, but I am wanting to develop my personal work too.

Once a week would sound good to me. We could meet in a public place (cafe) first, and then see where to take it from there..

Hi, I combined this with the other photography class. Vilma, you are set as teacher. If you want to map out dates and times of a few meetings (either here or via private email to me), I will go ahead and schedule this. You can probably meet at Ptarmigan if you'd like, but you certainly don't have to!

Hello there, unfortunately I can't make it today but Vilma & I should definitely meet up soon if we're to run the "Wednesday Projects" peer group together!

Personally I do not think it is a good idea to combine the photography classes, travel photography and photo critique are definitely two different things.

But I think this seems pretty clear, if wednesdays seem good, and if ptarmigan can be used we just need to figure out a good time.

Why not just start it next wednesday say 19-21 at Ptarmigan?

For this first meeting, I think everyone could bring their work, we can each present our work and then discuss it. This for a starting point sounds good to me.

This sounds great. I'm going to schedule the first three classes for now. We have an event on the third Wednesday during the day which ends at klo 19, so the Photography meeting can start right after that. There is also a Clip Kino event the fourth Wednesday (12 May) from 19-21, but let's see how the first three go before scheduling any more.

Ptarmigan is Nilsiänkatu 10 A, 00510 Helsinki, in Vallila. www.ptarmigan.fi has info, maps, and other events.

And by the way Antti, I didn't combine this class with "Travel Photography" -- but there was another regular "Photography" class. Which is actually a class from another city that I copied during a live demonstration of the Public School website.

I know I initially suggested Wednesdays (and am now wishing I had suggested another day) as I will not be able to make it next week either! But the 28th is in the diary, so see everyone then!
Vilma, it would be nice to meet you separately though, just to exchange ideas etc, if the two of us are to act as the "facilitators" of this - what do you say?

Is there a possibility to show work on a computer at Ptarmigan, as I dont gave my own laptop here at the moment or a place to print my work either.
Does someone have a laptop to bring or something?

We have a projector that you can use. I'd offer my laptop, but I will proably be using it for work during your class. But I'm sure someone will bring one.

I would be very interested to join this class but it seems that the next wednesday is already the last meeting. Is that right? Or is it ongoing during the summer? thanks!

Hi Anne, the class has not actually been active for a while now, as most of the group are busy or away from Helsinki.

But I would be happy to start this up again and get it going again for the summer.
I can do the meeting this wednesday, if at least you are coming?
I'll email the others from the group to see if someone else can make it too.

Unfortunately, I am not available this wednesday ( this is why I asked, I thought it was the last class) but I would be for the most of the summer. If the class starts again we may be 2 joining.

Would you like to start the class again next wednesday ( June 16th)? I would be for sure available.

I'll ask around if I could get some more people to join us too.

You could maybe bring some of your work or something so we can start off and make plans about future meetings then.

Glad to hear this is getting going again! The kontti could be a meeting place but I think you might need Internet in which case you can resume @ Ptarmigan, same times as before. (Ville, you should schedule/organise this when you're ready).

We're having a Clip Kino @ Ptarmigan on Wednesday 28.7 but all of the other Wednesday should be free.

I will make a new proposal for this class that has better information after the meeting today and schedule the future meetings.

Hi! Great to see that the Photography class starts up again! I like the idea of the class very much and would love to join when I will be in Helsinki again in August and September. Hope you will continue until then!!
I am doing a lot of portraits at the moment, but interested in whatever you plan to do and especially exchange and discussion of pictures.

I looked at your proposal and it sounds just like the right thing for me. I would happily join then as of August, curious to see your pictures and will try to bring some of my own. Keep on going until then!
